Some, perhaps, 10 or 15 years back; I was putting a "For-Sale" sign, on our local Kroger Store's bulliten board.
I was selling my motorcycle to buy food for my family. (They're all grown, and gone from home, now!)
On the bulliten board there was a small card which allocated itself, to your club; "Invaders,"
Courtesy, 'Light Bulb.'
I have been praying for 'Light Bulb" ever since that rainey night!
He has has always represented "Hope" for me; that one day I would have the freedom to ride, again!
But, I've never had another bike, since. I was a lone rider. (Just the way it was)
I thought I had lost 'Light Bulb's' card! Today, I found it in an old blue jean vest, which says,"Courtesy," with the name 'Light Bulb' as the designated giver!
As I said, I've been praying for 'Light Bulb' since the day I found His card on the bulleten board in Latonia, Kentucky!
It sprouted Hope, once again within me. I decided to look-up your club on the internet.
I've never had another motrocycle, since. (I'm an old man, now, 65 this year; and have let my elusive dreams slip-on-bye!
I'm so sad that he, 'Light Bulb' has ridden off!
I have but one question for you. May I keep the card in honor of 'Light Bulb?' Or, out of respect to your organization, may I keep it with me; and pray for you all?

Comment: I just saw my son's entry and the facts are pretty much right except for one thing. I never made a dime off Big Bob's bike. If those of you were there are still alive, you would remember when you asked where to take the bike I (in my grief) and living in an apartment with no garage said to take it to his parents. When I tried to get it back they sold it and said they put the money in a trust for my son. When he turned 18 the money wasn't there. So, I saved the widow benefits I got for my son to buy him the bike he still owns. True, I swirled into a drug oblivion when Big Bob was killed, but when I came out of it, I did attempt to replace what my son should have rightfully had in the first place. Some things can never be changed and the past is one of them. Big Bob, my son and granddaughter will always be the loves of my life. The club was a part of my husband's life and in respect to the choice he made, I will always have respect for all of you. Even though I don't see those I love much anymore I have love and memories that will last the rest of my life and for that I'm grateful

Comment: You know I have been reading a lot of peoples posts.I have to say I also have a lot of fond memmories and one shitty one.On feb 14 1980 my father "BIG BOB" was murdered.
My first memmory was of a lot of my fathers brothers seated in back of the funeral parlor.My dad's family wanted them out but my Mom made sure they stayed.It was a cold day looking accross the street at stracks after I shoveled the first dirt on his casket.Then A lot of gunfire!I rode on his bike in the back of someones pickup truck.That was the last time I ever saw an Invader or his bike for that matter.His mom sold it out from under me.When I got old enough I tried to track it down unsuccessfully.I did though find in school Mike (MONGO'S son) when we moved from Gary to Hebron.We were good friends for a time.Mongo wanted to meet me.I rode out on my 1977 lo rider with the factory drag bars.The first thing he said to me was "YOU GOTTA CHANGE THOSE FUCKIN HANDLEBARS!!!"I have to say from 1990 to date I have never found a more "classy" bunch of guys out there.I have met a lot of other clubs over the years but NONE stood up to you guys.Even though I do not come around as much as I used to it doesen't mean I don't want to but unfortunatly I never seem to have time for shit.Combined with the fact I have showed my ass from time to time. God I miss BEEF I used to LOVE spending time with him.Oh well life is short, too short to not tell those Who have been close to me how I feel.I found that out when BARON passed.I never had the chance to make ammendes with him after he was soo good to me.It haunts me to this day.I do although go to WOJO's place from time to time. Sherry his ol'lady was kind of a second mom to me.How ironic she married an Invader like my real mom! I have seen a lot of new white vests and it makes me happy to see you grow!

Comment: Along very long time ago there were two brothers 2 ole ladies a baby named Timmy and a dog called puppy.Last but not least a very young prospect.They all lived together in a house in Crown Point. Well the 2 brothers got very bored talking about midget pigmys.Mind you we were all going alittle stir crazy. Dead of winter Subzero weather,20 inches of snow on the ground and one brother says prospect fire up the grill cook some steaks. 2nd brother said I want to see my front yard look like West Palm Beach. There wasnt a tablespoon of snow left in that yard. Down to the bare grass,Ill never forget the Devotion and honor that prospect (Nomad Willy) showed that day!

I walked into the Invader M.C. shop in Lowell Indiana one day looking for a tat shop. This dude named Kornn jumped in the car with me and he took me to his house in Hobart. Truly one of the coolest guys I have ever met. I looked at the picture in the memorial and it looks like the same dude. I sure hope it's not. I need to smoke a fatty in his honor, I was planning to look him up when I get back North.

Sad -seeing Invader names and remembering their faces & the special thoughts we all have. Then I started reading the NOMAD HISTORY! I just have to say , Breaker again, you have the perfect words. BEAR indeed pioneered the NOMAD WAY. He was 17-18 years old when a few of us met him. He Pulled into a (town) with a pack of 6-7 motorcycles. Knuckles,Pans, suicide shift dirty and badass coming from Columbus IND. He made it NO SECRET that he was looking for other people that love to hang out on the road putting miles on their ass going down that highway, LOOKING THRU BEARS PICTURE WINDOW. yeah ah huh and needing a meal and clean sheets! BELIEVE it or not he loved clean sheets, Hells going to suck me in now, HE HAD THIS FADED RED FATBOB {GYPSY }IT WAS ALMOST PINK from his miles. I think that was the insperation for the pink bike with red flames. A few of you will remember that bike because he had a cast from his foot to his groin. Yeh !!riding a SUICIDE SHIFT NO DOUBT. Funny I never heard anyone ask him why his bike was pink. So NOMADS keep on looking out YOUR big picture window your highway.There is no high like that high.GOOD THOUGHTS ABOUT A RARE BEAR WITH A NOMAD STORY THAT LIVES & WILL ALWAYS KEEP RIDING ON!!
